However, I was able to use the camera by installing gphoto2 on OS X and using that to download the captured images from the camera. Setting up and using gphoto2 is a bit advanced for beginners, but if you are desperate to get this working on OS X, do the following: 1.
Install MacPorts from www.macports.org 2. After MacPorts is installed, run Terminal 3.
Within a Terminal window, type 'sudo port install gphoto2' 4. Gphoto2 and all its dependent libraries will install. This may take a while (took me a little over half an hour on my MacBook Pro). After gphoto2 is finished, plug in your digital camera and type this in the Terminal window: 'gphoto2 -auto-detect' If it works, your camera should be listed. Type 'gphoto2 -list-files' to see a list of the files on the camera 7. Type 'gphoto2 -get-all-files' to copy all the files to the current directory in terminal 8. To open a Finder window in the current directory and look at your newly downloaded photos!
